Enjoying the outdoors has always been my personal favorite activity in your life. Depending on how far you’ll want to go a favourite campsite it is fairly inexpensive and when you’re properly prepared, very enjoyable.
Priorities for the outdoor adventure:
Water, Water, Water is to start with most of your concern. When you leave the comforts of civilization you will not only need water for drinking but for washing yourself, your utensils, as well as perhaps even filling the radiator of one’s car or truck. Of course I’m assuming you’re taking an automobile to your camp site.
If you are backpacking of traveling lite you have to do some study with the area you intend to go and find out where streams is going to be and map them out. You can’t depend on the water being drinkable – clear of unwanted organisms. So you have to take a method of getting purification tablets or get a water pump which has a purification filter.
Fire – Keeping Warm:
Check with the forest intend to see what kinds of campfires are permissible in your community you’re planning to become camping. Depending on what time of the year it really is, some area’s do not let any type of fire due to severe draught leading to high fire danger. Most with the time, specially in designated camping areas you will find some form of camp stove for cooking and keeping warm.
Starting your Fire:
Take plenty of matches, if at all possible purchase some water proof matches. Other fire starting sources are propane lighters, and survival kits with Magnesium Fire Starter and Flint Fire Starter. They are smaller than average easy to carry plus expensive. So pointless not to have one.
Take Plenty of Food:
Food that may spoil fast, like fresh meat – steaks, chicken etc. must be eaten the first particular date or please take a cooler with dry ice to keep it from spoiling. Take lots of canned food and remember to store inside a cool shady area. Stock up on dried fruits, nuts, jerky, energy bars, stuff you don’t need to concern yourself with, are nutritious and convenient to carry. Also grab some packets of freeze dried food.
You probably will be miles from any emergency services so be ready to defend yourself if required.
You should carry a knife constantly. It has many uses and pointless not to have one along with you. An axe or hatched. Very useful when gathering wood and just a fantastic tool to get at the service. A pistol if you might be more comfortable with firearms and discover how to use one is definitely nice to own.
It’s a good idea to test with local authorities to make certain firearms are permissible in the area. Pepper Spray is one with the best devices for protection against bear, any animal and in many cases humans.
All the Comforts of Home? No, You Won’t Have That, So Be Prepared and Think!
Are you choosing a tent for protection from the weather, maybe winging it and just choosing a sleeping bag. Or are you currently camping light but with protection through your sleeping bag along with a bivvy bag for protection from sun and rain?
So exactly what is a Bivvy Bag or other terms are Bivy Bag, Bivouac Sack, Bivi Bag?
Anyway they’re light convenient to carry sacks that you put your sleeping bag in and zip up around your bag and head providing you with protection against, rain, wind, snow promoting a little more comfort.
Some literally lay against see your face. Of course you can sleep on your side but I like the ones which may have frame work around your face giving you some space. Much more comfortable. Most of them are waterproof and gives some insulation value.
Be prepared for all weather conditions. Even when it is warm make sure you please take a jacket, sweatshirt, long pants, not only shorts, long sleeve shirts which you can layer and turn into comfortable.
Pack a hat which has a large brim for protection from the sun as well as a stocking cap to utilize during the night. Be ready for rain. If you don’t want to take rain gear a minimum of take a few large plastic garbage bags. Cut a slit in the bottom and place it over your mind. They work great.
